Vishay 成立于1962, 当时主要制造及销售箔电阻, 而该箔电阻是由董事会执行主席及公司创始人 Felix Zandman博士发明的.公司开始以箔电阻及箔电阻应变计作为其最初产品系列开展经营. 1985, 从一家新成立的公司发展成为这些原产品的全球领先制造商,由此, Vishay 开始了一系列战略收购以使自己成为可提供广泛电子元件的制造商.
Vishay的收购包括一些顶级厂商,如Siliconix, Telefunken, Infineon的红外元件业务, General Semiconductor, Dale, Draloric, Sprague, Vitramon, 及 BCcomponents (原先为Philips Electronics 与 Beyschlag的无源元件业务部门). 在2007年4月, Vishay 完成了对International Rectifier®的某些分立半导体与模块产品线的收购.
